EDUC 605: Unit 4: Interpreting and Presenting Evidence 





Purpose: The purpose of units 2-4 is to examine and apply strategies for effectively presenting evidence in academic writing. Previously, we reviewed the importance of evidence to support assertions, how to evaluate evidence for credibility, and interpret various sources of evidence. In this unit, we will focus on how to use credible evidence to support your assertions. We will focus on how to effectively synthesize the evidence that you are gathering and how to appropriately cite your sources. Outcomes: At the end of this unit you will be able to: Apply strategies for effective analytical writing. Paraphrase, summarize, and synthesize sources of evidence in your problem statement.Identify the elements of effective synthesis statements and how the writer can use evidence to support these statements.Apply basics of APA formatting.

EDUC 605: Complete the Note-taking matrix Problem Statement Template Exemplar Related Factors Paragraph Complete Problem Paragraph Peer Review Forum and Submit your revised Problem Paragraph. ( additional 4-6 sources for your paragraph) Related Factor(s) to the Problem Paragraph. One paragraph that makes a claim about a related factor to your chosen problem supported by at least three empirical articles. The outline is provided in class.
