Objective: To aid students with special needs, academically and socially, by providing strategic access and resources to be successful in school and community.1. 1.Learning Disabilities:
Input:visual and auditory perception--recognizing the shape, position, or size of items seen, heard, or touched.Integration:perceived input is interpreted, categorized, placed in a sequence, or related to previous learning: story-telling, correct and memory sequencing.Storage:memory: short-term or working memory or with long-term memory.Output:muscle activity, gesturing, writing, or drawing."Reading and Learning Disabilities"(2007).
2. Communication Disorders:
Expressive language disorder: simple sentences and a limited vocabulary (Morales, 2013).Mixed receptive: expressive language disorder – comprehending commands (Collins, 2011). Stuttering: break in fluency: repeated sounds, syllables, or words (Morales, 2013).Phonological disorder: patterns of sound errors (Morales, 2013).Language disorder:vocabulary, with grammar, etc).Speech sound disorder:– (i.e, phonological disorder-- pronunciation and articulation.Social (pragmatic) communication disorder: social uses of verbal and nonverbal communication in naturalistic contexts (APA, 2013).Unspecified communication disorder: do not meet all criteria--symptoms cause distress or impairment (APA, 2013)Sensory impairments Learning Disabilities Speech disorders

3. Emotional and Behavioral Disorders: Unidentified intellectual, sensory, or health factors.Interpersonal relationships with peers and teachers.Inappropriate types of behavior (acting out against self or others) or feelings (expresses the need to harm self or others, low self-worth, etc.)Unhappiness or depression.Physical symptoms or fears (Categories, 2014).
4.
